Yapı Merkezi Signed the Railway Superstructure Modernization Project in Romania

Yapı Merkezi, which has signed giant projects around the world and broke new ground in the fields of transportation, infrastructure and general contracting, has now undertaken the 11 Lot Railway Superstructure Modernization Project in Romania. There are 11 lots within the scope of the project in Romania, which is of regional importance for Yapı Merkezi. The total cost of 11 Lots with a project duration of 24 months for each lot is 44.6 M €. The signing ceremony of the project, which is of regional importance for Yapı Merkezi, was held on January 17, 2023 with the participation of Yapı Merkezi CEO Aslan Uzun and Yapı Merkezi Construction Deputy General Manager Mustafa Saatçi.
 
With a track length of approximately 24 km and a single track length of 46.5 lines-km within the scope of 11 Lots, the duration of the project is 24 months and the warranty period is 60 months for each lot. Within the scope of the project, there are reconstruction and maintenance works of the superstructure of the line so that the line can run at the desired speed. The tender for the project was made by "CFR" SA Bucharest District Branch on 27 October 2022.
 
Track superstructure modernization, replacing the component elements of the track superstructure and creating track without ties, as a result, bringing the line to the traffic speed parameters of 120 km/h for passenger trains and 100 km/h for freight trains, assembly of fasteners of railway and level crossings and making connections with highways, cleaning and ensuring the drainage systems of rainwater along the track, line equipment areas or existing level crossings along the line; and other maintenance works are within the scope of the project.
 
In his speech at the signing ceremony, Yapı Merkezi CEO Aslan Uzun stated that Romania is important for the Company because of its location in Europe and said: “We are happy to have added a new one to our many successful projects we have realized so far. As Yapı Merkezi, which breaks ground in transportation, infrastructure and general contracting, we are happy to contribute to the strengthening of our economy by providing a significant foreign currency inflow to our country with various projects.’’
