Yapı Merkezi Signs Historic Contract with Uganda

On October 14, Yapı Merkezi signed a contract with the Ugandan government for the Malaba-Kampala Railway (SGR) Project, valued at approximately $3 billion. This project, which spans 273 kilometers, is one of the largest contracts signed by Turkish contractors abroad and holds strategic significance not only for Uganda but also for East Africa.

The Eastern Railway Project includes the design, construction, and supply of rail vehicles for a standard gauge railway that meets European and American standards, fully electrified. The project features a design speed of 120 km/h and includes 2 major stations, 4 medium stations, 1 marshalling yard, and 3 freight terminals.

Leveraging its extensive expertise in railway engineering, Yapı Merkezi has provided optimal engineering solutions for this project. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to securing this project for our company and wish our new project success.
