Malaba-Kampala RAILWAY

Yapı Merkezi signed a contract with the Government of Uganda for the Malaba-Kampala Railway Project worth approximately $3 billion during a ceremony on October 14, 2024. This project, stretching 273 kilometers, is one of the largest contracts ever signed by Turkish contractors abroad and holds strategic importance not only for Uganda but also for East Africa.
 
The East Line Railway Project includes the design, construction, and supply of rail vehicles for a standard gauge railway that meets European and American standards, with full electrification. The project, valued at around $3 billion, has a design speed of 120 km/h and features 2 major stations, 4 medium stations, 1 marshalling yard, and 3 freight terminals.
 
Yapı Merkezi has leveraged its extensive expertise in railway engineering to provide the most suitable engineering solutions for this project.
