Dr. Erdem Arıoğlu
Vice Chairman
Born in Istanbul in 1969, Dr. Arıoğlu’s academic background is impressive. He graduated from the prestigious American Robert College of Istanbul in 1987, followed by a Civil Engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University in 1991. His pursuit of knowledge continued at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Master of Science in Construction Management in 1992. Currently, he continues to his PhD at Boğaziçi University, focusing on the intricacies of bidding processes for Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) systems.
Dr. Arıoğlu’s professional journey began in 1992 at Yapı Merkezi Construction and Industry Inc., where he held diverse roles, from Project Engineer to Project Development Director. His expertise spans project and investment financing, BOT models, cost control systems, tendering, and strategic partnerships. His insights have been shared through numerous technical articles published both nationally and internationally.
Beyond his role as Vice Chairman of Yapı Merkezi İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. (Yapı Merkezi Construction and Industry), Dr. Arıoğlu is the Chairman of Yapıray Demiryolu İnşaat Sistemleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Yapıray Railway Construction Systems Industry & Trade) company and holds board memberships across the YM Group.
